Edifice

 In many ways, our lives are shaped by an idea machine called ideology, or our ideas are generated by ideology. It's a whole set of idea production, idea processing, value judgments, behavior implementa-tion, goal selection, and even a belief system that keeps society functioning according to the requirements of ideology. 

This project explores the differences and characteristics of different ideologies in operation and investigates different expressions under political ideologies, prompting the public to reflect on political realities through various small font design projects.


Experiment 3 



 Mom, what is feminism?

 Assigning symbolic value to “love" and “motherhood" and placing them on a pedestal is an ideological mechanism that has long exploited women's labor. Providing economic value without compensation is exploitation under the guise of love. Social conditioning compels women to compensate for their subordinate gender status through the expression of so-called motherhood. I combine knitting with font design to express a primitive way of resisting capitalism, detached from mechanical production methods, prompting the audience to contemplate concepts of family and motherhood.

3 steps

Ideology permeates our public and private spaces through various language symbols. This project explains what ideology is, what it is in China, and the deceptive nature of ideology through a visual segment. When an ideology becomes pervasive, people tend to overlook its existence. This transparency is a form of how ideology operates, as it allows people to accept certain values without questioning them.
